How do I swap a ticket without refunding it?

If you are selling tickets to an event and one of your attendees wants to swap over their tickets to another ticket type or change to another event date, use the IWannaTicket feature ‘Credit Note Return’. This article provides detailed instruction about how to action a credit note return for your attendee instead of refunding their order. 

In the case study below, we will show you how to upgrade an attendees 2 General Admission tickets to 2 VIP Passes so that the attendee only needs to pay for the difference. This example applies to any situation where tickets are being changed over and a difference in cost needs to be paid. 

1. Find the attendees event order in the ‘Orders’ tab on the left hand side of the screen. 

2. Click the use the ‘Return (credit)’ button in the Actions column on the left hand side.

When you click this, if successful, the order will change from a Confirmed state (green) to a Returned state (orange). 

3. To process a new order for the attendee, go to the Transactions column and copy and paste the code including the “R” in the Returned column. 

4. Paste this code into the box on the first page of your event. 

5. Click the ‘Book Now’ and the system will automatically reduce the total cost by the amount that has been returned from the original order. 

6. Follow standard ‘Check Out’ procedures.
