Customising tickets in Digital Wallets

Digital wallets offer a convenient and efficient way for event attendees to access their tickets, and can be customised with logo and banner images to include your branding. This feature must be manually enabled for your account.

NOTE: Digital Wallets are an advanced feature and as such are not enabled by default. If you would like to start using Digital Wallets, contact your Account Manager or get in touch via support@iwannaticket.com.au.

Digital wallets such as Google Wallet and Apple Passkit have become increasingly popular among event attendees for storing and accessing their event tickets. These two types of digital wallets offer different features and customisation options that can enhance the overall ticket buying experience.

IWannaTicket provides an easy way for event organisers to customise how tickets for each event are displayed in each application.

Once digital wallet permissions have been added to your account, they can be customised for each event by clicking the "Wallets" link that will now appear on the left hand navigation bar.

Once you have finished filling in details and uploading images on this page, make sure to click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

Google Wallet

Note: Google Wallet functionality must be enabled per ticket type via the use of the "WALLET" tag.

Tags can be edited via the Edit button for each ticket type on the Event Summary Page.

After the desired tickets have been tagged, click "Sync Classes" to set up the initial ticket.

The customisation options for tickets sent to Google Wallets consists three fields, as shown in the example below:

The IWannaTicket website with a logo uploaded under Google Icon, and an image of a football team as the Google Hero Image.

Background Colour

This field accepts hex/HTML colour codes, which can be generated using a site such as HTML Color Codes.

If this field is left blank, Google will automatically pick assign a background colour based on any Hero image supplied.

Google Icon - 660 x 660px

Generally used for a company or event logo, this field accepts square images with a minimum resolution of 660 x 660px, which will be masked into a circle. It is displayed on the top left corner of the ticket.

Google Brand Guidelines recommend a 15% margin on either side of the logo to ensure that the edges of the image are not cut off during the masking process.

Google Hero Image - 1032 x 336px

The Hero image is displayed along the bottom of the ticket, and as such is optimised for wide rectangular images, with an aspect ratio of at least 3:1 or wider.

Previously developed footer or banner images are a great option for this application.

Apple PassKit

Due to the different ways each digital wallet functions, Apple Passkit requires no further setup beyond having it enabled for your account and customisation of the options below:

Apple Icon - 87 x 87px

This icon is used in situations where a ticket is displayed via another application, such as mail or on the lock screen.

Apple Logo - 480 x 150px

Displayed in the top left of the digital ticket, this field is an optimal place for an event logo or banner and additionally supports transparent images.

Apple Strip Image - 1125 x 432px

This field accepts large wide images, which will be displayed behind the main text of the ticket.

While there are ways to design background images for this purpose, in this example a blank green rectangle image was used to ensure that "The 2023 Sayle Season Pass" text remained clear and readable.
