How do I stagger ticket sales e.g Early Bird Tickets?

Event organisers often want to stagger their ticket sales. For example, they may want to release early bird tickets, first release, second release and final release tickets to the public at different times and at different prices. Our platform enables you to create this tiered sales approach by manually changing the sale status of each ticket type.

There are three different sales status options:

  • Available for Sale: Tickets are available for sale to the public via your event listing and also through the Box Office in your account.
  • Not Visible to Public: Tickets are NOT available for sale to the public via your event listing but are available through the Box Office in your account.
  • Sold Out: Tickets are displayed as sold out and cannot be purchased via your event listing or the Box Office.

Here is an example of how to set up a tiered ticket sales approach:

'Available for sale from...'

Set up an Early Bird ticket and change the sale state to 'Available for sale from...'. Set the on sale date and on sale end date.

Create a 1st Release ticket and set the On Sale date and time to match the On Sale End date and time of the Early Bird Ticket.

'Available for sale after...'

Create a 1st and 2nd Release ticket.

Adjust the Sale State of the 2nd Release ticket to 'Available for sale after...'.

Set the 'On Sale After' setting to the 1st Release ticket. This will trigger the 2nd Release ticket to go on sale once the 1st Release tickets have sold out.
