How do I set up discounts for my event?

Our discount feature, allows you to create many types of discounts. This article will show you a few examples of commonly used discounts. 


There are a multitude of discounts available for you to set up and apply to your event. You can set up discounts on a per ticket basis, per date basis or apply discounts to all dates and times. 

Discounts can be applied to a whole event or a single event date.

How to apply a discount

To apply a discount you will need to set up a 'discount rule'. These rules can be changed and tweaked to reflect different types of discounts. 

For discounts with a code

You will need to set up a booking code, then create a 'discount rule'.

How to make a 'Discount Rule'

After logging in, you will be taken to the 'summary' page of your event. Using the menu bar on the left hand side of the page, navigate to 'Codes & Discounts'.


The 'Codes & Discounts' page contains a full list of booking codes and discount rules set up in your event.

To add a discount rule click 'Add discount'.

Then fill in the following details to create a rule . Some common discount rules are listed further down in this article.

Where is says 'if these rules are met' - this is where you fill out conditions that determine the scope of the discount.


You then need to fill out the conditions according to the type of discount that you are trying to achieve. Then save!


You can easily turn a discount rule on and off by clicking the 'Active' tick box.



Common Discount Options:

Complimentary - free ticket

Free tickets can be set up in more than one way - as a ticket type or through a discount rule.

Alternatively, you can create a discount code that applies a 100% discount.

Rule name: Complimentary

Conditions: 'Booking code is' and 'overall discount %'.

So the rule is...

If the 'booking code is' EXAMPLE, then the customer will receive an 'overall discount %' of 100%.

Fixed Price discount 

Rule name: Fixed price discount

Conditions: 'booking code is' and 'overall discount $'.

If 'booking code is' EXAMPLE then the customer will receive an 'overall discount $' of $10

10% off

Rule name: Ten percent discount

Conditions: 'booking code is' 'overall discount%' 

If 'booking code is', then the customer receives an 'overall discount %' of 10%.

$5 off each ticket

Rule name: Group Discount

Conditions: 'booking code is' 'per-ticket-discount $'

If the 'booking code is' then the customer receive a 'per ticket discount $' of $5 on each ticket.
